Tech giant Fulcrum IT Partners has acquired Fortress Security Risk Management, a leading cybersecurity firm. This strategic merger will significantly expand Fulcrum’s security service offerings, providing its clients with a comprehensive suite of protection solutions.
Fortress brings with it a proven track record in security operations and IT support, including top-notch 24/7 U.S. security operations centers (SOC) and a well-established IT managed service desk.
Fulcrum’s network of MSPs will immediately benefit from these enhanced services. By leveraging Fortress’s expertise, Fulcrum can provide clients with even better real-time monitoring and management of their cybersecurity defenses.
Fulcrum to leverage AI for enhanced security
Upon closing, Fulcrum IT Partners will integrate its existing hybrid AI capabilities with Fortress Security Risk Management’s cybersecurity and service desk offerings. This move aims to strategically enhance the company’s ability to deliver data-driven cybersecurity and IT support solutions to clients globally. By merging these complementary strengths, Fulcrum will create a more powerful platform to address the evolving needs of its customers.
“Our acquisition of Fortress will mark a pivotal moment for Fulcrum, our customers, and vendor partners as we bolster our cybersecurity offerings and advance our verticalized AI-driven platforms,” said Kyle Lanzinger, president of Fulcrum IT Partners. “We are excited to welcome the talented team from Fortress and look forward to integrating their expertise to further enhance our customers’ insurability and security posture.”
Global expansion through strategic alliance
Fulcrum IT Partners plans to integrate AI capabilities into its cybersecurity and data protection services, which will allow the company to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of cyber data. This will enhance the company’s ability to deliver stronger security services and improve cyber insurance outcomes for customers.
Also, by incorporating Fortress’s SOC into its operations, Fulcrum will strengthen its specialized service offerings. This includes the development of AI-powered SOC services to complement its existing hybrid AI solutions.
To further expand its global cybersecurity footprint, Fulcrum has also formed a strategic alliance with MCPC. The two will leverage Fulcrum’s new AI-driven SOC and cybersecurity services to create a broader range of solutions for clients worldwide.
“Businesses of all sizes, across all verticals including retail, healthcare, manufacturing and public sector, need and want more from their trusted IT advisors—especially when it comes to AI, compliance, data analytics and security,” said Lanzinger in a press release on the company’s overall expansion strategy. “As we move forward in 2024, the acquisitions we make and the new and expanded partnerships we forge will allow us to enhance existing offerings, develop new ones and generate additional revenue streams while decreasing costs for our customers. By bringing novel approaches, differentiated offerings and advanced IP to our secure IT solutions and services, we are helping customers solve their most pressing business and technical problems and create new opportunities.”
