Longtime channel leader Eric Torres has taken a new position at cloud marketplace creator Pax8 following his recently announced departure from ScalePad.
Torres appointed to new VP role reporting to Rob Rae
Torres is in the newly-created role at Pax8 effective immediately. As VP of Channel & Community Engagement, he will be responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of channel events and “community -building initiatives.” He will report to Rob Rae, Pax8’s CVP Of Community and Ecosystems.
“As we continue to drive partners’ success through our community engagement events and education, Pax8 is thrilled to bring on more firepower in order to take our programs to the next level. We are doing just that with the addition of Eric Torres,” said Rae in a press release.
Torres has been in the IT channel for nearly two decades. He was most recently the VP of Channel at ScalePad and before that held roles within Datto’s channel team.
Pax8 adds new leader following string of appointments earlier this year
This is the first new leadership appointment for Pax8 since leadership additions were announced closely timed with Pax8’s flagship Beyond conference held in June in Denver. In July, the company named Eric Stevens its Chief AI Officer. Before that, Nick Heddy was named President in addition to his existing Chief Commerce Officer designation, Libby McIlhany was appointed Chief Product Officer, and Scott Chasin took the reigns as CEO while co-founder and former CEO John Street moved to his new role as chairman of the board, among other leadership moves.
The marketplace company claims there are 35,000 MSPs and other partners within its global ecosystem and in June revealed its new marketplace experience for those partners to transact and manage their businesses.
