Looking to help small solution providers tap into some of the funds expected
to come from the Obama administration’s economic stimulus package, also known
as the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, D&H Distributing has created
a new “Webisode” in its series of educational offerings available on the Web to
help walk VARs through the process and the opportunities.

“Historically, these kinds of broad, overarching programs have been looked at
as a multinational reseller kind of deal,” says Pat Donovan, director of inside
sales at D&H. “This time around, we are trying to help our business base,
the SMB. There is a potentially significant opportunity in the stimulus package
for the reseller base.”

Presented by D&H Solutions Specialist Bill Hersh, the Webisode outlines the
scope of the funding program and offers insight into major areas of potential.
Hersh also reviews which specific solutions and product categories are most
applicable to the markets and projects eligible for stimulus funds, such as
electronic medical records (EMRs), rural broadband deployment and education
infrastructure.

Donovan says the Webisode is part of D&H’s broader program to help VARs
with the stimulus package, and other materials are available, too, including
white papers and links.

“People are thinking that they haven’t seen any stimulus funds, so they won’t
get any,” says Donovan. “But really the bulk of the money hasn’t flowed out to
the marketplace yet.”

Donovan says the state and local government and education markets will be key
for smaller VARs looking to play a part in the stimulus package.

“This is a program that is going to have an SMB opportunity,” he says.
