Salesforce has just launched AgentExchange, a new marketplace and community integrated directly into its AI CRM platform. The platform is designed to let developers and partners create and sell their own AI tools, allowing them to tap into the massive $6 trillion digital labor market.

AgentExchange is essentially an evolution of Salesforce’s already-established AppExchange, but this new marketplace is specifically designed to enhance Salesforce’s digital labor platform, Agentforce.

AgentExchange is launching with more than 200 partners and a good chunk of pre-built in actions, topics, and templates, all of which have gone through intensive security and customer reviews. The goal is to help organizations quickly create and deploy AI agents that can work smarter, and help boost productivity and innovation across various industries.

AI for everyday use cases

The goal is to bring AI from the lab into everyday business, making it something companies can actually use.

“AgentExchange empowers customers to seamlessly integrate trusted AI solutions within their workflow,” said Alice Steinglass, EVP & GM of platform, integration and automation at Salesforce. “Now our developer community can directly tap the expertise of our partner ecosystem to get the right industry-specific solutions so they can build and implement AI agents, and be the pioneers turning their businesses into Agentforce companies.”

When Salesforce launched AppExchange in 2005, it helped customers get even more value from the platform with prebuilt apps, workflows, and integrations. According to Brian Landsman, EVP & GM of global business development and partnerships at Salesforce, it also gave its partners an opportunity to participate in the emerging cloud economy and build thriving businesses.

“With AgentExchange, we’re doing much the same — opening up Agentforce for partners, startups, and Agentblazers to participate in the digital labor market and build agentic AI on Salesforce,” Landsman said.

New AgentExchange and Agentforce features

Salesforce and its leadership have outlined the following features and benefits included in the new release:

New Partner-Built Components:

  • Actions: Expand agent capabilities with custom integrations across Apex, flows, APIs, and prompts.
  • Prompt Templates: Use pre-written guides to keep agent interactions consistent and goal-oriented.
  • Topics: Focus agent behavior around specific tasks to ensure reliable, guardrail-protected performance.
  • Agent Templates: Create comprehensive AI solutions by combining topics and powerful actions.

Simplified AI Solution Discovery:

  • Easy Exploration: Find and deploy trusted AI solutions directly in the marketplace or Agent Builder.
  • Standard Actions: Leverage out-of-the-box Agentforce actions, including Slack capabilities like case creation and messaging.
  • Industry-Specific Solutions: Connect with partners who offer pre-built, customizable AI tools tailored to unique business challenges.
  • Collaborative Ecosystem: Bring together businesses, partners, and Agentblazers to accelerate AI innovation and adoption.

AI is already changing how businesses work. AgentExchange and similar platforms aim to make that transformation feel less like rocket science and more like a natural next step. By giving companies an easy way to integrate innovative, custom AI tools, we’re moving from discussing technological potential to actually solving real-world business challenges.
