Slide, a business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) platform designed exclusively for managed services providers (MSPs), announced Tuesday it has raised $70 million in Series B funding as the company accelerates product development and expands internationally.

The round was led by venture capital firm General Catalyst, with participation from Base10, Outsiders Fund, futurepresent, Vine Ventures, Glynn Capital Management, Benchstrength, Top Down Ventures, and Connecticut Innovations.

Alongside the funding, Slide said it is opening a UK office and launching a dedicated data center in Germany to support MSP partners across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Series B funding to fuel product development and channel expansion

Slide said the $70 million investment will support several strategic initiatives, including expanding infrastructure and go-to-market teams globally and accelerating feature development within its BCDR platform.

The company also plans to invest in engineering talent to build additional backup products designed specifically for MSP environments.

“This puts us in an exceptionally advantageous position to keep building on the strong momentum we already have,” CEO Michael Fass told Channel Insider.

“We talk a lot about bringing the magic for MSPs, and that is what Slide is going to be about. We already have a strong reputation in the channel, but we know we have to earn MSPs’ business every day, and that’s what we set out to do,” Fass added.

Another priority is expanding integrations with tools commonly used by MSPs. Slide’s platform includes an open API ecosystem designed to integrate with modern RMM, PSA, and other channel-focused technology stacks.

General Catalyst partner Mark Crane said the firm invested in Slide because of the company’s focus on rebuilding a critical infrastructure category with a channel-first approach.

“We believe the most enduring companies are built with deep customer empathy and a willingness to take on entrenched incumbents,” Crane said. “Michael, Austin and the team understand the MSP community at a foundational level and are rebuilding a critical category with modern architecture.”

UK office and German data center signal EMEA push

As part of its international expansion, Slide is establishing a UK office and deploying a regional data center in Germany to support EMEA partners and meet regional compliance and data sovereignty requirements.

The company said the move will allow MSPs in the region to access local support and in-region data infrastructure as they adopt Slide’s platform.

Fass and Slide COO Carlson Choi told Channel Insider that Slide already works with MSPs in the EMEA region who were leveraging the company’s Canadian data center even before Slide decided to formally expand into the region.

“We feel it’s really important to just listen to your partners, ultimately. We asked a few MSPs in EMEA where it would be most helpful to them for us to build a new data center, and they said Germany, and so we decided to open in Frankfurt,” said Choi.

UK-based partners already on board as demand for Slide builds

Derrick Ross, director of UK-based managed services provider Hampshire Business Computers Ltd., said local infrastructure and support are key factors for regional partners evaluating new backup platforms.

“We’ve been watching Slide’s momentum over the past year and were genuinely excited to see a modern BCDR platform finally arrive in the UK,” said Ross in a statement.

“For MSPs here, having access to Slide’s high-performance architecture, security-first design, and partner-centric approach, combined with local support and in-region data centers, is a game changer. It’s refreshing to see a vendor truly listening to the MSP community and delivering innovation without the legacy baggage and the long-term contracts. We’re thrilled to bring Slide to our clients and to grow alongside a company that is clearly committed to the channel for the long term.”

Building a next-generation BCDR platform for MSPs

Slide’s platform uses NVMe infrastructure, native encryption enabled by default, and direct-to-technician support, according to the company. The vendor also emphasizes a month-by-month contract model designed to reduce partners’ long-term lock-in.

To Fass and Choi, the most important factor in Slide’s success is partners’ belief in the product and trust in the company to support their business needs.

“We respond in real-time to their needs, we build solutions that work for them, and we feel very strongly we need to constantly earn their trust and business,” Fass said, noting that most partners start with a one-month commitment and quickly sign longer-term contracts once they experience working with Slide’s technology.

“I get excited every time I talk to a partner, whenever that is,” Choi added. “It’s amazing when we get calls and feedback from partners that go, ‘wow, this really works,’ and we see them benefit from what we’re building for them.”

With fresh capital and expansion into EMEA underway, the company is positioning itself to compete more aggressively in the global BCDR market while continuing to focus exclusively on MSPs and channel partners.
