Flexera, a technology spend and risk intelligence company, announced two major acquisitions as part of its FinOps expansion: ProsperOps, an AI-enabled FinOps automation solution for public cloud, and Chaos Genius, an innovator in AI-driven cost optimization for Snowflake and Databricks.

Comprehensive FinOps for AI, data clouds

According to Flexera, the acquisitions are intended to augment its capabilities and help deliver “the most comprehensive, intelligent, and autonomous FinOps solution” on the market. This includes functionality such as cost reporting and allocation, workload optimization, and rate optimization.

“As enterprises adopt AI across their infrastructure, the need for intelligent, automated execution has never been greater,” said Jim Ryan, chief executive officer of Flexera.

The company says the strategic acquisitions were made to expand Flexera’s product reach into emerging FinOps areas for AI and Data Clouds.

Bringing ‘automated execution’ with ProsperOps

Ryan says the ProsperOps acquisition helps Flexera meet rising demand for “automated execution” as enterprises accelerate AI adoption.

“ProsperOps strengthens our ability to deliver on that promise, helping organizations govern cloud spend with precision and scale outcomes that were previously out of reach,” Ryan said.

ProsperOps brings an autonomous approach to managing cloud commitments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. It’s designed to help enterprises move beyond passive recommendations and into active savings outcomes.

“As the market matures, customers are asking for more than point solutions; they want unified rate optimization, workload optimization, and cost visibility,” said Chris Cochran, chief executive officer and co-founder of ProsperOps.

“Together, we are uniquely positioned to deliver the comprehensive FinOps platform organizations have been asking for,” Cochran added.

Flexera also sees ProsperOps extending its FinOps for AI capabilities, supporting finance, engineering, and procurement teams with intelligent automation that can take action without human intervention.

As part of Flexera, ProsperOps will continue operating under its own brand to ensure continuity for customers and partners, while integrating complementary Flexera FinOps features.

Addressing rising cloud costs with Snowflake and Databricks

On the other hand, Flexera framed the Chaos Genius acquisition as a way to help customers and partners optimize the costs of running Snowflake and Databricks — particularly as data analytics and AI workloads continue to surge

“Chaos Genius brings the autonomous automation through agentic AI for Snowflake and Databricks optimization that our customers and partners need,” said Ryan.

“It delivers real-time intelligence and control that puts them back in command of their cloud and AI investments.”

As a platform, Chaos Genius delivers agentic FinOps for AI that optimizes inefficient usage across Snowflake and Databricks — helping Fortune 500 enterprises reduce costs by up to 30 percent.

Meanwhile, Chaos Genius CEO Preeti Shrimal says the acquisition creates an opportunity to expand the company’s impact on cloud cost management across enterprises.

“Joining Flexera allows us to scale our impact globally and empower more organizations to govern data cloud costs amid exponential AI growth,” Shrimal said.

Late last year, Flexera formed a strategic alliance with technology solutions provider SHI International Corp. to deliver unified IT asset management and FinOps solutions for customers. Read more about the partnership and how it supports Flexera’s broader FinOps strategy.
