EchoStor Technologies, an IT solutions and services provider, recently announced the acquisition of CyberNorth, an enterprise and public sector IT solutions provider that specializes in data protection, infrastructure, and cloud services.

Acquisition brings data protection expertise to wide portfolio of offerings from EchoStor

The acquisition will boost EchoStor’s capabilities, broaden the company’s service offerings, and strengthen its market position across Northern New England and Upstate New York.

“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in EchoStor’s M&A growth strategy and reinforces our position as the premier solution provider in the Northeast,” said Mike Johnson, CEO of EchoStor Technologies. “CyberNorth’s exceptional team and their proven ‘secure and simplify’ approach will strengthen our ability to deliver end-to-end, customized solutions that better protect and serve our enterprise clients.”

Via this acquisition, CyberNorth’s specialized data protection expertise will combine with EchoStor’s technology portfolio, along with their recent investments in security, AI, and data services. Together, the unified organization will offer customers comprehensive, next-generation solutions backed by an engineering workforce.

“While our industry chases scale over talent, we’ve always fought above our weight class through technical expertise and speed,” said Jeremy Lombardo, President, CyberNorth. “This acquisition isn’t about getting bigger– it’s about getting better. We’re strengthening our capabilities and service because the best partners don’t just sell products, they understand how technologies truly connect. EchoStor shares our underdog mentality and commitment to going above and beyond for customers every single day. That’s what makes all the difference.”

Regional CyberNorth locations remain operational to continue local support

The organization will operate from EchoStor’s headquarters in Norwood, Massachusetts, while maintaining CyberNorth’s regional locations to ensure a continued local presence and support.

Lombardo will take on the role of President, with CyberNorth employees joining EchoStor to preserve the technical expertise and customer relationships.

Among the benefits of the combined organizations are:

  • An expanded range of services within EchoStor’s Unified Technology portfolio with focus pillars in Next-Gen Datacenter, Security, Networking, Modern Workplace, Digital Workflows, and AI & Data services.
  • Enhanced vendor partnerships and synergies to deliver solutions across the entire technology stack.
  • Boosting EchoStor’s data protection capabilities with CyberNorth to enhance its technology pillars.

EchoStor’s continued growth

EchoStor’s recent acquisition comes shortly after the organization made a new C-suite appointment, with the aim of continuing to deliver leading IT solutions.

Cale Anjoorian was appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) of EchoStor in August 2025, alongside the realignment of its technology leadership.

Daniel Clydesdale-Cotter, who has served as CIO since 2024, will transition to the newly created role of Chief Innovation Officer, where he will lead technology in AI and other emerging technologies.

Anjoorian brings over 25 years of leadership experience, most recently serving as CIO at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals.

“Cale’s track record of enabling business transformation through technology, combined with his deep experience in establishing enterprise managed service practices, positions us perfectly to accelerate our enterprise strategy and deliver even greater value to our customers,” said Johnson.
