Earlier this year, CoreX announced that it would be acquiring InSource’s ServiceNow business unit to expand ServiceNow delivery capabilities.

Companies say deal is a strategic move to scale ServiceNow services

The companies involved say the deal will create a single, purpose-built organization to scale with intent, elevate enterprise transformation outcomes, and meet worldwide demand for AI-enabled, end-to-end ServiceNow solutions.

“This is not growth for growth’s sake, but rather a strategic, deliberate move of scale,” said Rick Wright, Head of CoreX. “By fully integrating InSource into CoreX, we have created a focused consultancy built for scale, execution, and long-term value for ServiceNow customers.”

Why CoreX remains committed to acquisition as a growth strategy

Recently, Channel Insider spoke with Wright about CoreX’s acquisition, InSource’s specialist capabilities, and its value across SPM, ITOM, AI, HR, higher education, and public sector markets.

Wright said that, as CoreX has been on an acquisition journey for the past 12 months, its focus has been to find available areas in the market, whether that be people with unique expertise, unique skills, or an industry play.

“Some of our acquisitions have been around industry, some have been around talent, some have been around unique solutions they have in the market,” said Wright.

“For us, InSource was a combination of that. InSource is a U.S.-based company, so we need to significantly increase our scale in the U.S., but what we loved about InSource was that they have a very broad base of clients that they’ve built over the last 10+ years, and they are the market experts in a couple key areas,” Wright continued.

One of those key areas, Wright says, is in strategic portfolio management as InSource is ServiceNow’s go-to partner.

InSource brings deep capabilities and early AI expertise

InSource has strong capabilities in ITOM and has completed some unique AI projects, which Wright says are intriguing to CoreX’s business.

From an industry perspective, InSource is also a leader in higher education, state, and local markets, areas where CoreX is continuing to expand its portfolio.

“Another thing we loved about InSource was the rigor with which they operate their business,” said Wright. “They have really honed in to leverage ServiceNow as their delivery platform to run their business, and they have really honed their processes and their systems to drive operational excellence at all levels. Everything from how they sell to how they deliver, we will be leveraging a lot of those best practices as the foundation for CoreX as we move forward.”

Looking forward, CoreX will continue to expand into new industries where it didn’t previously have strong capabilities or presence, Wright says.

This brings new capabilities and new relationships with some of the ServiceNow workflow teams that CoreX didn’t have outside their core areas.

How the deal fits into ServiceNow’s AI goals

ServiceNow itself is investing heavily in AI across its platform and within its ecosystem. Wright says that how CoreX leverages AI for specific use cases to drive enterprise transformation will be critical.

CoreX has a growing portfolio of use cases they’ve worked on in the customer service, manufacturing operations, and healthcare spaces, which will be a significant part of defining success in the next era of ServiceNow-powered transformation.

“One of the things we’ve been very deliberate about as we’ve built CoreX is to make sure that when we go into an industry, we have people that have worked in those industries, that have served those industries for many, many years, the wealth of knowledge that the team brings to our customers,” Wright explains.

“So it’s not just about plugging in ServiceNow, it’s really understanding their industry, understanding their challenges, and marrying the business transformation with the ServiceNow AI platform that really drives value.”

With this being the third acquisition for CoreX in as many months, it has been a busy year for the organization. Deep industry knowledge, paired with ServiceNow AI platform knowledge, will help CoreX drive significant value in today’s enterprise transformation world.
