MongoDB has announced a series of new integrations with Microsoft Azure at Microsoft Ignite 2025. The new updates aim to help enterprises build the next generation of AI applications securely and confidently.

Enterprise-grade AI requiring ‘exceptional trust’

Olivier Zieleniecki, global VP of cloud partnerships at MongoDB, positioned the integrations as tools that enable enterprises to continue their AI-powered innovations without sacrificing data security.

“As businesses look beyond simple chatbots and build intelligent agents that can remember, reason, and act with real-time context, they’ve found that their agents must have easy access to massive volumes of real-time, proprietary data and that the bar for truly enterprise-grade AI requires exceptional trust, as well as exceedingly tight security and governance,” Zieleniecki said.

“Today, I’m thrilled to announce a number of updates and integrations that enable our customers to more easily build trustworthy, secure AI applications with MongoDB Atlas on Azure.”

Here’s a breakdown of the new integrations:

  • MongoDB in the Azure AI Foundry: The MongoDB Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server is now available in the AI Foundry Tools Catalog, allowing organizations to securely connect intelligent agent workflows and copilots to live enterprise data in MongoDB Atlas.
  • New ways to access leading models from Voyage AI by MongoDB: The voyage-3.5 embedding model by Voyage AI by MongoDB is now available within the Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft Marketplace. This makes it easier for developers to build powerful, context-aware, and trustworthy AI applications with Atlas on Azure.
  • Simplified compliance with Azure Landing Zones: MongoDB’s new integration with Azure Landing Zones, now in public preview, will allow Atlas workloads to automatically inherit corporate policies and security controls defined within the Cloud Adoption Framework.
  • Real-time visibility with Microsoft Sentinel: The new MongoDB Atlas Connector for Microsoft Sentinel, now in public preview, will give teams real-time visibility and unified automated threat detection and response across every Atlas workload.

“Together, these integrations give enterprises the confidence and control to move faster, safely – transforming trustworthy AI from a blocker into a competitive edge in the AI race,” Zieleniecki added.

Strengthening the MongoDB-Microsoft partnership

Zieleniecki also emphasized that the newly announced capabilities cap off a strong year for the MongoDB-Microsoft partnership.

He pointed to the record adoption of MongoDB Atlas on Azure and the steady stream of joint innovations as significant milestones.

“It’s been a milestone year for the MongoDB-Microsoft partnership: we’ve seen record customer adoption of MongoDB Atlas on Azure, and we’ve invested in continued innovation – further integrating MongoDB Atlas with key Microsoft and Azure services across AI development, security and governance, and enterprise productivity – to solidify MongoDB’s position as the best data foundation for AI on Azure,” Zieleniecki said.

Earlier this year, MongoDB acquired Voyage AI to address AI hallucinations. Read more about the acquisition and how it enhances MongoDB’s information retrieval capabilities.
