Lemongrass is expanding its role in SAP’s enterprise AI ecosystem, with 24 AI agents now accounting for nearly one in five partner agents listed in SAP Discovery Center, as demand for AI tools that automate real-world business workflows grows.
The SAP-focused cloud transformation provider announced the milestone on October 13, positioning its portfolio as a way for enterprise customers to move agentic AI beyond experimentation and into everyday business operations.
In an interview with Channel Insider, Jonathan Brunt, VP of Strategic Partner Initiatives at Lemongrass, said customers are increasingly focused on identifying practical AI applications that deliver measurable business value.
“Everyone’s a little bit AI fatigued at the moment, because we hear it from every direction,” Brunt said. “But really what makes Lemongrass a little bit different in the space is we’re leveraging not only a technology-first approach, but we’re aligning to the individual business needs that our customers have.”
Lemongrass AI agents target procurement and finance workflows
Lemongrass’s 24 agents span procurement, finance, service operations, and enterprise integration, with an emphasis on automating repetitive tasks while maintaining human oversight.
Procurement applications include supplier onboarding, risk reviews, buying guidance, and document processing. Other agents support working capital analysis, email routing for services, and synchronization between SAP Integration Suite and SAP LeanIX.
Brunt identified procurement as a particularly promising area for automation because many organizations share similar operational challenges.
“Rather than someone having to manually navigate every single step, the agent can then assist with those specific parts of the workflow, while also remaining that human in the loop, that human oversight to make sure that there are no inaccuracies,” he said.
The agents are available for evaluation through SAP Discovery Center, where customers can review technical prerequisites and connect with Lemongrass about implementation.
SAP clean-core modernization supports AI deployments
Lemongrass is positioning its AI portfolio alongside its existing SAP modernization services, arguing that cleaner architectures and better-integrated data environments are necessary to scale enterprise AI.
Brunt said the company has invested heavily in SAP Business AI capabilities over the past three years, building on its experience supporting complex cloud migrations.
“As SAP has been evolving, Lemongrass has been evolving as well, in parallel, to ensure that we are aligning to these best practices, and we are supporting this clean-core methodology that is so important for SAP customers,” Brunt said.
The company previously launched its LCP AI SaaS Edition in May 2026 to support S/4HANA modernization and clean-core initiatives.
SAP AI agents create new integration opportunities for partners
For SAP partners and systems integrators, the announcement highlights a potential shift in demand for AI services from demonstrations and pilots toward implementation, integration, and ongoing optimization.
Brunt suggested that enterprise pressure to adopt AI is already substantial, but customers increasingly need partners capable of connecting the technology to specific business outcomes.
That transition could create opportunities for partners combining cloud modernization, SAP platform expertise, data integration, and business process consulting.
For Lemongrass, the opportunity lies in helping customers connect AI investments to operational improvements rather than introducing another standalone technology.
“It’s taking AI away from experimentation into a practical use case,” Brunt said. “And that’s really where we see ourselves differentiating.”
