Hewlett-Packard is offering Oracle SunSet Program incentives for partners
who move customers off Oracle Sun SPARC servers for their SAP
implementations to an HP infrastructure instead.

HP made the announcement at the SAP Sapphire
conference in Orlando, Fla.,
this week in the form of the HP Migration in a Box. The offering provides a
comprehensive package and standardized process for migration. HP said customers
can move to HP’s Converged Infrastructure data center offering, which provides
servers, storage, networking and virtualization in a pretested solution.

HP’s Migration in a Box includes migration guidance, initial assessment,
implementation and ongoing support, all at a fixed cost. It also features a
range of support levels from basic to mission critical, covering servers,
storage, networking and software.

Migration in a Box includes an initial assessment of a customer’s IT
environment. Customers have a choice of migrating to HP ProLiant, HP Integrity
or HP BladeSystem Servers, plus a choice of OSes including Microsoft Windows,
Linux and HP-UX 11i.
HP first announced the SunSet incentive program in July 2009 under the name
HP’s Sun Complete Care Program, saying at the time of the announcement more
than 100 customers had chosen to migrate in the first six months of 2009.

HP claimed that Sun customers were paying 80 percent more in TCO
for Sun SPARC servers than customers using HP Integrity servers.
