SmartBear, a provider of software quality and visibility solutions, has partnered with Adactin, an Australian technology services provider specializing in cloud, AI, and software engineering services, to expand SmartBear’s software testing solutions across key markets in the Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Maximizing innovation within the region
The partnership with Adactin enables the distribution of SmartBear’s testing solutions across key sectors in the APAC region, including government, banking, healthcare, education, insurance, energy, and payments.
Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and India were identified as priority markets that will benefit from the combination of Adactin’s QA offerings and SmartBear’s testing expertise.
Ed Greenwood, director of international channel sales at SmartBear, views the partnership with Adactin as a stepping stone for the company as it continues to form alliances that drive growth and customer value across APAC and other key markets.
“APAC is a hotbed of innovation with significant investment in digital transformation, driving demand for SmartBear’s software quality solutions. Adactin’s commitment to providing AI-powered digital engineering, software quality assurance, and business transformation services helps us together bring the best of both worlds to the region,” said Greenwood.
Partnerships leader tells us APAC rollout serves as a milestone for channel growth
Speaking with Channel Insider, Joe Tong, former Atlassian executive and newly appointed SVP of global channel partnerships at SmartBear, called the APAC rollout a key milestone in the company’s global channel strategy.
“Over the next few months, we’ll be focused on activating Adactin’s deep regional expertise to accelerate adoption of our AI-powered testing platforms, particularly Reflect and QMetry, across the APAC region,” Tong said.
“By the end of the year, we aim to have established a strong footprint in the area, bringing measurable beneficial outcomes to software reliability and time-to-market,” Tong added.
Tong noted that the partnership goes beyond distribution, focusing on collaboration that leverages Adactin’s regional expertise to deliver a “new standard for software testing in APAC.”
Delivering ‘AI-ready’ software testing
When asked how SmartBear is approaching software testing in today’s era of AI, Tong positioned the company as an ideal testing solution purpose-built to tackle the novel challenges brought about by artificial intelligence.
He emphasized the growing need for testing platforms that “can handle the speed and abstraction” needed to deliver confidence in application quality.
“Given the changes that AI is driving in code creation, our customers are experiencing applications developed at 10 times the speed and abstraction, accelerating rapidly. Existing quality and testing solutions cannot keep pace with these changes,” Tong said.
“SmartBear provides systems of record and solutions to ensure that enterprise teams can validate the integrity of APIs and applications delivered at AI speed and scale,” he added.
SmartBear’s Reflect and QMetry platforms were specifically highlighted as standout offerings that will bring significant value to the region. Reflect uses machine learning to adapt to UI changes and reduce false positives, which the company says is a game-changer for teams dealing with rapid release cycles.
QMetry, on the other hand, offers deep integration with CI/CD pipelines and analytics, enabling teams to make more informed decisions about quality and coverage.
From Adactin’s perspective, CEO Navneesh Garg underscored the partnership’s role in helping customers de-risk their IT environments while simultaneously ensuring quality software delivery.
“Our shared commitment to people and customer success makes this a natural collaboration, delivering technologies that differentiate and create authentic value for enterprises in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and India, as they advance their digital transformation,” Garg said.
