Nasuni is expanding its unstructured data management capabilities with the acquisition of DryvIQ, adding content intelligence, classification, and governance tools to help enterprises prepare data for secure AI use.
The acquisition brings DryvIQ’s technology into the Nasuni File Data Platform, enabling customers to discover and classify content, identify sensitive information, and apply automated governance policies across more than 40 cloud and on-premises repositories.
For channel partners helping customers deploy AI, modernize file infrastructure, or strengthen data governance, the combination highlights how AI readiness is increasingly becoming a data management problem as much as an application or infrastructure project.
Nasuni adds content intelligence for AI data readiness
The deal reflects a growing challenge for enterprises adopting AI: much of the information organizations want to make available to AI systems exists as unstructured data spread across multiple environments, often without consistent classification or governance.
Nasuni’s State of Enterprise File Data Annual Report 2026 found that 97% of organizations have deployed or are piloting AI agents, while 57% of AI projects are not meeting their stated objectives, highlighting the ongoing gap between demand and readiness.
DryvIQ’s technology scans more than 550 file formats, more than 100 entity types, and more than 1,000 business document types. According to Nasuni, the platform can identify personally identifiable information, protected health information, and payment card information across more than 175 languages.
DryvIQ targets unstructured data governance at scale
That visibility is intended to help organizations determine which data can safely support AI workloads while also addressing compliance, data lifecycle management, and infrastructure costs.
“Our customers are looking to us for help with data strategies to support safe AI access in a world of rising infrastructure costs,” said Nick Burling, chief product officer at Nasuni.
Burling said the DryvIQ acquisition follows other recent additions to Nasuni’s platform, including Resilio for edge performance and AI Activate for permission-aware AI access.
“Customers have been attempting to stitch together a solution across multiple vendors for years,” Burling said. “Now Nasuni provides one platform to manage, protect, and activate unstructured data with proven impact on both cost reduction and productivity gains.”
Governance capabilities target AI readiness and compliance
DryvIQ also adds policy-driven governance capabilities that can quarantine high-risk content, apply retention and sensitivity labels, remediate permissions, and support defensible deletion.
Nasuni said its policies can be mapped to popular compliance frameworks, including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
“Organizations are increasingly focused on turning unstructured data into a strategic asset, but content is scattered across dozens of repositories, and most of it has never been classified,” said Mark Brazeau, founder and chief strategy officer at DryvIQ.
Brazeau said joining Nasuni will allow DryvIQ to bring its intelligence and governance capabilities into a cloud-native file platform and provide customers with “a single, governed foundation to classify, protect, and activate data wherever it lives.”
What the DryvIQ acquisition means for channel partners
For channel partners, the acquisition could broaden the services opportunity around AI readiness beyond infrastructure deployment alone.
As customers look to put more enterprise data to work in AI systems, partners are increasingly being called on to help discover and classify unstructured data, remediate permissions, apply governance policies, and align those environments with compliance requirements.
Recent research from Corsica Technologies found that 99% of surveyed IT and security leaders consider data integration and security work an important component of working with a technology partner.
That creates a potential role for MSPs, resellers, and solution providers to integrate data management, security, and AI strategy into a broader modernization engagement.
