11:11 Systems today announced it has acquired managed services provider Ntirety in a deal that continues 11:11’s expansion of its VMware-authorized business. The deal comes as Broadcom continues to refine its VMware partner ecosystem, reshaping opportunities for authorized service providers.

We spoke with Dante Orsini, 11:11’s chief revenue officer, about the deal and the provider’s commitment to Broadcom following another year of changes to partner agreements in North America.

Ntirety brings managed services, security, and data expertise to 11:11

Ntirety is a managed and professional services firm with a strong history of supporting VMware clients worldwide. The company also focuses heavily on security, compliance, and data-related services.

Orsini told us the decision to acquire Ntirety is part of 11:11’s overarching approach to growth in strategic areas. Acquisitions, he says, are a core component of that growth strategy.

Ntirety, in particular, he says, closely aligns with what 11:11 already offers and brings expanded expertise in data services to the provider.

“They’ve got an outstanding focus on data services, and they bring with them expertise in platforms that we don’t have as much in today,” Orsini said. “The goal with acquisitions is always to see both groups enhance each other. We bring a lot to their existing customer base with our platform, but they bring capabilities to us, too.”

Orsini also says 11:11 looks at a number of opportunities each year and conducts extensive due diligence to determine whether an acquisition would be a fit across culture and technical offerings. Sometimes, the provider determines partnership is a better route.

With Ntirety, leaders at both firms saw the deal as the best path forward for customers.

“We chose 11:11 to take Ntirety’s business to the next level because of their deep experience in VMware-based environments, as well as their focus on security,” said Ntirety CEO Jim Parks in a statement. “11:11 is the right choice to support our customers’ IT plans from cloud to containers to private AI and beyond.”

How 11:11 integrates acquired providers

Ntirety is the latest in a string of acquisitions 11:11 has completed over the past few years. Orsini says the provider is laser-focused on integrating acquired businesses and their services and technologies into 11:11 as seamlessly as possible.

“Everyone from our operations teams and services and delivery folks to platform engineers are really focused on how we integrate so customers remain happy,” Orsini said. “In our business, we’re only as good as our last interaction with the customer.”

Ntirety has longstanding relationships with many customers, some of whom have been with the provider for nearly two decades, according to Orsini.

Now, 11:11 wants to maintain those relationships while also elevating customer outcomes through its own unified platform and extensive service offerings.

“As time goes on, we’re able to figure out where we bring additional value. I was just on calls with some of Ntirety’s customers, and the reactions to ideas we had for where we could take them were great to see,” said Orsini.

Why 11:11 remains committed to Broadcom’s VCSP program

As we’ve covered before, Broadcom continues to change its approach to its VCSP authorized partner program and the partners it works with in certain regions.

11:11 Systems is a member of the VCSP program and has remained committed to the company and its technology. Over the past year, the provider has announced a variety of ways it is partnering with its peers to maintain opportunities for end-user customers who want to keep their VMware systems in place.

“You can’t take 15 years of development and experience and just replace it overnight, and I think many people are beginning to see that,” Orsini said, adding that he knows some partners and their customers have migrated off VMware due at least partially to the adjustments Broadcom has made to its channel.

Still, Orsini says, VCF 9.0 has reinvigorated a base of users who continue to see the value in Broadcom’s investment in VMware technology, even if they will need to change their approach to the business model behind it.

For its part, Broadcom continues to emphasize its moves as a strategic shift towards amplifying the work of those it has deemed its strongest partners.

“Our strategy in optimizing the VCSP program is to focus our investments on a group of core partners with tremendous competencies like 11:11 Systems,” said Ricky Cooper, general manager of global cloud service providers and OEMs at Broadcom, in a statement.

“Their global footprint, VMware expertise, more than 6,000 customers, and proven cloud, connectivity, and security solutions position them to fully embrace our roadmap and innovation agenda and provide our joint customers with world-class service and support,” Cooper continued.

11:11’s recent VMware ecosystem acquisitions

Over the past three years, 11:11 Systems has acquired five major VMware-based businesses:

  • iland Cloud
  • Green Cloud Defense
  • Unitas Global
  • Sungard Availability Services
  • Faction

“I think it’s our job in the partner community to keep an even keel with everyone where we can,” Orsini said. “We’ve built our work from the ground up over a long period of time, but it’s ultimately not about 11:11, it’s about understanding the business needs of everyone and providing customers the best possible path forward.”
