This week news from Microsoft and Salesforce points to a broader picture we're seeing across AI adoption strategies. First, Salesforce and Nvidia have teamed up to launch Koa, a new reasoning model built specifically for CRM workflows within Salesforce. Now, the company says that Koa is not trying to compete with frontier models on every type of task. Instead, it's getting really good at pinpointing specific needs. Say, for instance, updating sales opportunities, follow-up information, and routing support cases.
Now, for partners, this unlocks a new AI services opportunity, or at least a differentiated one than those we've covered earlier in the year. Customers are going to need help not just in adopting Salesforce, but in choosing which models to use on which processes, and how to design those workflows with new tooling in mind and with the future ready to go. Now, Microsoft is also pushing partners and customers towards this from a different angle. It recently released its frontier playbook.
And that playbook argues that simply buying more AI isn't enough. Microsoft says that organizations should evaluate their processes first and fix what have been long-standing gaps in how employees get the work done before introducing agents into the mix to do those processes alongside their human counterparts. Put these stories together, and a channel opportunity comes into focus that you should be thinking about if you aren't already. It's not enough to enable your customers to leverage the Salesforce license they already own and operate, or to add Copilot to an existing Microsoft model.
Your customers are going to come to you with questions about things like how to address business processes that don't work, what they should be building for the future, and then, yes, where AI should be layered on top. So, if you want to get ahead of tomorrow's challenges with today's service offerings, build your governance, security, and other tooling models around what your customers need, whether they eventually adopt AI or not. And that is a better business process and a workflow designed for human and non-human identities to thrive.
