The distributor promoted three company veterans to senior vice president positions.

Distributor Tech Data the week of Nov. 13 strengthened the ranks of its senior vice presidents to reflect the company's current needs and prepare for future initiatives.

The company, based in Clearwater, Fla., promoted Tracey Bradshaw to senior vice president and U.S. controller, John Tonnison to senior vice president of information technology in the Americas, and Pete Peterson to senior vice president of advanced infrastructure solutions.

Ken Lamneck, Tech Data president for the Americas, said the Peterson promotion is especially significant because it is in preparation for a major initiative around infrastructure solutions the company is planning for 2007.

"We're formulating that plan right now as we speak," he said.

Lamneck said the three newly promoted executives have 25 years of combined executive leadership experience in the IT industry.

"Each has contributed to Tech Data's success in countless ways, including strengthening us operationally, building strong business partner and customer relations, and leading the development of our best-in-class e-business services," Lamneck said.

Peterson joined Tech Data 10 years ago as director of sales planning. He was most recently the company's vice president of systems product marketing, and was responsible for marketing programs to recruit new IT resellers and generate new revenue opportunities for Tech Data.

Bradshaw, who is responsible for the distributor's accounting, joined Tech Data in 1998 and has held several executive management positions, including vice president, U.S. controller and director of vendor accounting.

With her promotion, Lamneck said, Bradshaw's responsibilities have expanded.

Tonnison joined Tech Data in 2001 as vice president of worldwide e-business in 2001, and is credited with leading the development of the distributor's e-business. In his new role, he will fill a newly created position that, in addition to e-business, gives him oversight of all business systems technology, application software and operations in the Americas.

Earlier this week the distributor appointed former Lenovo Canada executive Murray Wright as its new sales chief. Wright holds the title of senior vice president for U.S. sales. In October, IT industry veteran Robert Dutkowsky took over as company CEO.
