    Netgear Ethernet Bridge Recalled

    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Netgear Inc. announced a recall of one of the company's Ethernet bridges Wednesday. No injuries were reported, although the product is described as a possible shock hazard.

    The Netgear Wall Plug Ethernet Bridge, avaialble for between $50 to $80 on shopping sites, contains a plastic housing that can detach, creating a shock hazard. However, only one incident of the faulty casing has been reported.

    About 53,500 units of the bridge, known as the Netgear XE102, are being recalled, according to the CPSC. The serial numbers affected range from "XE12A32LB000001" through "XE12A32LB005000" and "XE12134LB005021" through "XE12143LB053586".

    Users with an affected device should call the company at (800) 303-5507 for a free repair kit that will solve the problem, the company said. The free repair kit when affixed will ensure that the plastic housing will not become loose or separated.
