The Xerox unit is after a bigger office technology services footprint.

Xerox announced July 3 that its Global Imaging Systems division, which until May had been an independent print solutions VAR, has acquired another print solutions VAR, Blackstone Valley Office Systems, extending Global Imaging's East Coast service footprint.

The acquisition gives Global Imaging new office technology offerings and platform service capabilities, including MFPs (multifunction products), fax machines and shredders, and various Xerox document management platforms, the company said.

    Resource Library:
Under the agreement, Blackstone will continue to provide SMBs (small and midsize businesses) located in Providence, R.I. and northern Rhode Island with printing, copying and faxing devices as a satellite of Conway Office Products, a document management platform provider based in Nashua, N.H.

Xerox's Global Imaging Systems plans to continue selling a competitor's products. Click here to read more.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
