Tech Data Unveils Cloud-Focused Program for Solution Providers
Tech Data has introduced a new cloud-focused education and enablement program available through its TDCloud business unit. As part of TDCloud Academy, Tech Data's tiered cloud education program for solution providers, the new program offers customized education tracks for solution providers focused on launching, expanding and maximizing cloud businesses. Solution providers will learn how to create cloud-based business solutions and tiered cloud practices. Three tracks are available: "Launch Your Cloud Business," "Expand Your Cloud Business" and "Maximize Your Cloud Business." Tech Data will evaluate and identify the right education track for solution providers through a customized Partner Evaluation Tool, a self-scoring system that analyzes knowledge, business infrastructure and attitudes toward cloud computing.
CompTIA Offers Free IT Security Assessment Tool
CompTIA has launched a free Web-based tool to help IT solution providers improve their customers' data security. The IT Security Assessment Wizard, developed by the CompTIA IT Security Community, is a vendor-neutral tool that IT security providers can use to create a security profile for their customers. It identifies and assesses the tools that customers currently have in place and offers options for deploying resources in areas where security may be lacking.

Zyme Adds Channel App on Salesforce AppExchange
Zyme, a Salesforce OEM partner in the emerging channel data management (CDM) solution space, launched its ChannelView-Pipeline Application, which will be available on Salesforce AppExchange. Described as a new way to connect customers, partners and employees, the new app will enable users of Salesforce to track and close channel-based opportunities proactively, increase sales visibility and improve the partner claims processes. The ChannelView Suite includes ChannelView-POS, -Pipeline, -Rebates, -MDF and –Loyalty.
Vormetric Joins Google Cloud Partner Program
Vormetric, a provider in enterprise data security for physical, virtual and cloud environments, has joined the Google Cloud Platform Partner Program as a technology partner. Google's technology partners include ISVs and software as a service (SaaS) vendors, platform companies, management and development tools vendors, analytics providers, business intelligence and ETL vendors, and storage specialists.
The Vormetric Data Security platform extends the security controls of the Google Cloud Platform by adding data-at-rest encryption, access control, and security intelligence audit log capabilities. This enables customers to use data protected by compliance requirements, legal frameworks and contractual obligations within the Google Cloud Platform.
