Avnet Launches Maintenance ServicesNow

To assist U.S. partners in capturing lost revenues related to maintenance services, Avnet Technology Solutions launched a service aimed at helping its solution provider and supplier partners renew and sell maintenance services.

Maintenance ServicesNow by Avnet, available in the United States, is a customized service that enables partners to engage with Avnet to sell or renew maintenance services on their behalf. The service ensures that the partners' customers are up-to-date on their services, contracts, tools, offerings, business practices and critical change announcements.

The program is designed to provide "partners [with] a cost-effective way to maximize the profitability of every contract," Larry Fulop, vice president and general manager, Supplier Services, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, said in a statement. "Avnet acts as a natural extension of our solution providers' and supplier partners' sales teams, and we will provide them with the dedicated focus to extend and manage their maintenance services offerings."

The Avnet team will reach out to solution providers' and suppliers' customers on their behalf to find opportunities, including hardware and software renewals on existing contracts, maintenance services prior to warranty exit and contract consolidations. The team also will maintain end-user installed records and alert partners to any related sales opportunities.

Ingram Micro Forms Advanced Solutions Organization

Ingram Micro's new U.S. Advanced Solutions organization aims to enable partners to expand their capabilities around high-value technologies, solutions and services. The new organization, led by newly appointed Senior Vice President Tim Ament, unifies the go-to-market teams that support advanced computing and advanced technology solutions, including data center and infrastructure technologies, enterprise software, networking, security, server, storage and virtualization.

The organization also aims to provide channel partners with the services, training, pre- and post-sales support, and specialized offerings needed to address key technology categories, including audio-visual, data center, data-capture/point-of-sale, digital signage, peripherals, physical security and unified communications. 

Arrow Adds Oracle Cloud Services Globally

Arrow Electronics has added Oracle Cloud services to its global distribution portfolio. Oracle is offering its cloud services through the channel to expand its market reach and help its partners extend their own revenue opportunities with the cloud.

Under the agreement, Arrow will offer Oracle's applications, cloud programs and enablement services through the ArrowSphere cloud services platform. The cloud platform connects solution providers, managed service providers (MSPs) and independent software vendors with a portfolio of cloud services.

Nexenta Signs Exclusive Agreement With Synnex

Nexenta, a global provider of software-defined storage (SDS) solutions, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Synnex to distribute its products in North America. The agreement enables Nexenta and Synnex to provide North American partners with complete, hardware-agnostic SDS options to deliver scalable storage solutions. Nexenta's sales model is 100 percent channel-focused and targets partners who are rapidly expanding their businesses.

WestconGroup Expands Security Portfolio

WestconGroup, a value-added global distributor, has expanded its security portfolio with a new North American distribution agreement with FireMon. Under the agreement, North American partners have access to FireMon's proactive security intelligence solutions that offer continuous visibility into network security infrastructure, firewall policy workflow and related IT risks.

The FireMon Security Intelligence Platform delivers full insight into network firewall configuration, policy and workflow, providing a highly scalable and context-aware source of real-time network security intelligence, the company said.

Dell SecureWorks Rolls Out Malware Protection/Detection Service

Dell SecureWorks has launched a new service to help organizations detect and protect against advanced and evasive threats. Advanced Malware Protection and Detection (AMPD) is a fully managed security service designed to quickly detect advanced threats on networks, the company said. The service combines Dell SecureWorks' threat intelligence with the malware defense platform by Lastline, a strategic investment partner of Dell Ventures.

The AMPD service continuously monitors and inspects email, file and Web traffic on an organization's network using Dell SecureWorks' purpose-built appliances and advanced analysis engines powered by the Lastline Breach Detection Platform.

Maxta Enhances Its Partner Program

Maxta, a provider of hyper-converged and software-defined storage (SDS) solutions, expanded its Maxta Value-Added Partner Program to enable partners to capitalize on the increased adoption of virtualized platforms by providing customers with hyper-converged offerings. In addition to reselling and providing products and services based on Maxta's MxSP SDS into virtual server environments, channel partners can now provide customers with MaxDeploy preconfigured and pre-validated hyper-converged solutions that simplify ordering and deployment. The program offers resources that allow partners to create, promote and sell Maxta-based solutions and services.

Digium, Jenne Expand Distribution Partnership

Jenne, a value-added distributor of business telephony and technology products, has joined Digium's Cloud Agent Program as a master agent. The agreement allows Jenne's partners to expand their portfolios with Digium's Switchvox Cloud Unified Communications (UC) business phone system and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking services. The Switchvox Cloud is offered with an "all features included" pricing model to make it easier to select and deploy an advanced business phone system.

HOSTING Debuts Cloud Services on Microsoft Cloud Platform

HOSTING, a managed cloud services provider, launched public and private cloud service offerings built on Microsoft Azure Pack. This enables organizations to create, host and manage business-critical applications in a compliant, secure and highly available cloud environment, said HOSTING. The company said it is the first U.S. partner to collaborate with Microsoft to develop a multi-tenant managed cloud on the Cloud OS Network (COSN).

OneCloud Software Unveils Partner Program

OneCloud Software, a provider of hybrid cloud management software, has launched its OneCloud Partner Program. The program offers MSPs and resellers the resources to grow their businesses with the OneCloud Recovery offering, an automated solution for disaster recovery/business continuity. The solution leverages Amazon Web Services as the disaster recovery site. Partners have access to a variety of benefits via the OneCloud Partner Portal, including marketing, sales and training benefits that help partners promote and sell OneCloud Software products.

BlackMesh Teams Up With Red Hat

BlackMesh, an MSP for dedicated and cloud-based solutions, has announced a collaboration with Red Hat to become a Red Hat Certified Cloud Provider, offering a certified OpenShift platform-as-a-service (PaaS) optimized cloud infrastructure service. Through the collaboration, BlackMesh has designed a cloud-based infrastructure that is optimized for OpenShift. The cloud-based solution will offer customers a supported and managed hosting environment.
