Avnet Unveils New Converged Infrastructure Offering
Avnet Technology Solutions has introduced its next generation of converged infrastructure offerings powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors called Ivy Bridge. These new offerings, featuring SAP HANA, Cisco data center technology and industry-leading storage, allow companies to store, process and analyze large data sets in real time. The converged infrastructure products are available exclusively through Avnet's channel partners, and will initially be offered in the U.S. and Canada.
Avnet also is the exclusive provider of Cisco's SAP HANA appliances. The IT distributor "provides partners with a simplified, fully integrated, validated, certified solution with SAP HANA software, operating system and customer information preloaded onto high-performance appliances." This helps partners speed up their time to market while reducing risks associated with developing these capabilities in-house, said Avnet.

IndependenceIT Adds AWS
IndependenceIT has expanded its cloud infrastructure options for enterprises and service providers with the integration of the company's Cloud Workspace Suite (CWS) on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This enables the hypervisor/cloud platform-agnostic CWS to operate seamlessly with AWS, simplifying the deployment of full-featured workspace-as-a-service environments by enterprises and service providers for anytime, anywhere application and desktop access, said the company.
The AWS integration also helps enterprises support user mobility and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies to increase productivity. In addition to AWS, CWS interfaces with a variety of cloud infrastructure options, including Google Compute Engine, Microsoft Azure and Artisan Infrastructure. These options give enterprises and CWS service provider partners the option of federating data centers with outsourced cloud infrastructure based on scalability, efficiency and cost, while speeding up their time to revenue, said IndependenceIT.
