AWS re:Invent

At the annual AWS re:Invent conference, partners and supporters of Amazon Web Services (AWS)  leveraged the show to introduce new products, capabilities and services. The AWS Marketplace is a channel for independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators (SIs) and VARs to sell their software as integrated solutions on AWS, helping them grow their recurring revenue stream.

AWS also unveiled several new programs and initiatives to support its partner network. These include expanded APN Partner benefits, new managed service and software-as-a-service (SaaS) partner programs, and APN partner-specific training for its AWS Partner Network (APN) program.

The conference also was an opportunity for AWS to release several new services, including Amazon Aurora, a MySQL-compatible database engine for Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) that leverages the benefits of both high-end commercial databases and open-source databases; AWS Key Management Service, a fully managed service for enterprise security and governance; AWS Config, which gives customers full visibility into their AWS resources; AWS Service Catalog, which allows administrators to create and share catalogs of customized products that use company-approved standard architectures and configurations, and AWS CodeDeploy, new application lifecycle management services.

Here's a roundup of 12 key product offerings, capabilities, and services (in alphabetical order) from AWS partners announced during the show, all designed to ease cloud deployments and management.

Accenture Speeds Migration to the Cloud

Accenture collaborated with AWS on new end-to-end cloud migration and management services to help enterprises move from cloud pilots to enterprise-wide deployments in the AWS Cloud. The Accenture Enterprise Application Migration Service for the AWS Cloud helps clients evaluate which applications should be moved to the cloud, and when they should be moved.

The new cloud management services for AWS is available via the Accenture Cloud Platform. The company also announced the Accenture Center of Excellence for AWS Cloud, which will be dedicated to developing assets and skills to ease adoption of cloud computing in the enterprise market.
