Avnet Teams Up With Cloud Provider Intermedia
Avnet Technology Solutions has expanded its portfolio with the addition of Office in the Cloud services from Intermedia, a one-stop shop for cloud IT. Avnet will provide Intermedia's cloud IT services to its U.S. and Canadian partners. These services include email, voice, file syncing and sharing, identity and access management, security and archiving.
Intermedia's Office in the Cloud services will be available to partners through Avnet Cloud Solutions. Certain Intermedia services offer a choice of multi-tenant and private cloud offerings. Partners also have access to the Avnet Cloud Toolset (ACT) to help customers manage these cloud solutions. ACT, launched in November 2014, helps partners in the United States and Canada manage and track cloud accounts across multiple cloud providers. Partners get full visibility into Intermedia provision accounts, provision cloud services and cloud spending, as well as invoices that track individual and aggregate cloud use for their organizations.
Tech Data Debuts Special Pricing Agreement Tracker
Tech Data launched its My S.P.A. Tracker, a special pricing agreement (S.P.A.) tracker for solution providers to help partners maximize sales by never missing an opportunity, the company said. The tracker allows solution providers to manage their special pricing agreements in one place.
Users can create custom rules for each vendor S.P.A., including notifications when agreements are new, expiring or recently modified. Email alerts about S.P.A. status can be automatically sent to team members as needed based on predetermined criteria. It is available through Techdata.com and Tech Data's SMB.techdata.com site.
WHOA.com Unveils Referral Partner Program
WHOA.com, an ISO 27001-certified secure cloud computing company, has launched its Referral Partner Program targeted at systems integrators, digital agencies, VARs and IT consultants.
As part of the program, all referral partners are assigned a dedicated WHOA.com cloud consultant and are supported by additional technical experts, as necessary. They also have access to a variety of training tools and programs. In addition to commissions for new customers and any solution upgrades, partners are paid commissions for the life of the customer.
NCP, Tech Data Sign Distribution Agreement
NCP engineering, a security technology provider, and Tech Data, have signed a distribution agreement that gives the global IT distributor's reseller partners access to the NCP remote access VPN solutions.
The agreement, which expands NCP's partner network, initially focuses on Tech Data's channel of SMB solution providers in the United States and Canada, which can offer the NCP Secure Entry Clients through the distributor's Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) division. The NCP Secure Enterprise Solution is also available across the channel for larger deployments.
IT-Ready Job Program Receives $50K Grant
The Creating IT Futures Foundation's IT-Ready job program in Minneapolis/St. Paul has received a $50,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation (OBF). The grant will help low-income residents train for careers in IT. The program is offered free of charge to help unemployed and under-employed individuals enter the IT field. IT-Ready is opening an office in Edina, Minn., next month and is hosting three additional IT-Ready classes this year to train and certify IT workers.
Ingram Micro Expands Ties With Microsoft in Asia-Pac
Ingram Micro announced its participation in the Asia-Pacific in the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program, which is aimed at bolstering customer relationships and cloud sales opportunities in the region. The program is designed to enable channel partners to more efficiently bundle, manage and support Microsoft Cloud offerings, such as Microsoft Office 365 and Windows Intune, Ingram Micro said.
Bitdefender Integrates Security for MSPs with Kaseya
Bitdefender, a developer of antivirus software solutions, has launched its Bitdefender Security for MSPs that is fully integrated with the Kaseya Virtual System Administrator (VSA). The offering provides managed service providers with protection for Windows desktops and server endpoints with antivirus and anti-malware, remote deployment and a pay-per-use licensing model. All security tasks are managed from the Kaseya VSA.
In other Bitdefender news, the company announced the availability of Bitdefender Security in the AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps. The offering is available to Amazon WorkSpaces customers using a monthly pay model.
RingCentral, Jenne Ink Distribution Deal
RingCentral, a provider of cloud business communications solutions, and Jenne, a value-added distributor of technology products and services, announced a new distribution partnership. Jenne will offer RingCentral's cloud communications systems through its reseller network in the United States. RingCentral's Partner Program offers free training, support and instant activation.
Act-On Software Adds Four Consulting Partners
Act-On Software, a provider of marketing automation for small and midsize businesses, has announced that BrainSell, Faye Business Systems Group, Levementum and W-Systems have joined the Act-On Consulting Partner Program as Platinum partners.
These partners advise and implement integrated marketing automation and CRM systems. Act-On has built native integrations to all major CRM systems, including SFDC, Sugar, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics and Infor. The company also offers database synchronization through FTP sync.
Protecode Teams Up With Source Code Control
Protecode, a provider of open-source management solutions, has expanded its presence in the United Kingdom through a partnership with Source Code Control Limited. Under the agreement, Source Code Control will provide support for Protecode's complete open-source management solution in the U.K. Products include Protecode Enterprise System 4, Protecode Compact and software code auditing services.
