Dell has signed a deal with Europe’s largest retailer, Carrefour, to sell notebooks and desktops in stores starting January.

Carrefour is the second largest retailer in the world, after Wal-Mart, with whom Dell already has an agreement. Carrefour has supermarkets and hypermarkets in more than 30 countries around the globe, including most of Europe, as well as China, Japan and South America, although this deal is understood to be in France, Spain and Belgium.

Dell has been very aggressive in the retail sector, signing deals with Staples just weeks ago and with mobile retailer Carphone Warehouse in the U.K. recently. Also last week the vendor signed online shop retailer Shoplet as an outlet.

In a statement to Channel Insider, Dell said: “Once the agreement is finalised, Carrefour Group will become the first mass merchandiser in Europe to sell Dell notebook and desktop computers. Further details will be announced once they are available. This agreement will enable consumers to have greater access to Dell products in an environment where they can experience the look and feel of the products before purchasing.”
