Avnet Technology Solutions will start offering Data Systems International’s solution for automated data capture, which helps leverage barcode and RFID technology for customers.

As part of the new solution, Avnet will now offer its partners access to DSI’s dcLink software, standard x86 servers, wireless data capture hardware and supporting infrastructure.

The solution is geared toward customers who want to leverage RFID (radio-frequency identification) for their businesses and keep track of inventory and assets in real time.

The software will reduce asset management costs, while improving productivity and creating real-time resources throughout an enterprise, according to Avnet, the Phoenix-based parent company of ATS.

“DSI’s software is compatible with a variety of industry-standard x86 servers and wireless handhelds. It also seamlessly integrates with database and enterprise resource applications for true end-to-end data management,” Avnet said in an Aug. 28 statement.

The DSI software will be preconfigured onto servers from IBM, Hewlett-Packard and others, and fully integrated into a variety of wireless infrastructure products. The software is also available to partners to allow them to provide customized solutions.
