Level Platforms Intros an MSP Certification
Canadian remote monitoring and management (RMM) firm Level Platforms this week introduced a new certification program for its managed service provider (MSP) partners that will signal to customers a certain level of proficiency in the firm's Managed Workplace RMM platform.
In order to attain the new LevelTech certification, partner employees will have to go through a series of online video courses and pass a 90-minute online exam. The program will cover how to install and set up Managed Workplace, and how to use it for reporting, patch management, alerting and problem remediation. Free for technicians working at Level Platform partner companies, the certification is designed to show customers that MSP employees have a good understanding of RMM techniques and how to best leverage automated IT infrastructures.
According to Matthew Adkins, president VanGuard Technologies, Managed Workplace is the main service delivery tool he uses and the new certification is important for his business to show customers that his MSP can deliver a certain benchmark of support.
Dave Sobel, CEO of Evolve Technologies, a Channel Insider columnist, and another Level Platforms MSP partner says the certification will help maximize his investment in the RMM platform.
"Certification makes perfect sense for us," Sobel says, explaining that it offers " a measurable indicator of our professionalism."
In such a heavily competitive market, managed service providers have been struggling to differentiate themselves and are increasingly looking for new certifications to prove their mettle. In the last year, the services market has seen organizations like MSP Alliance, with its Unified Certification Standard for Cloud and Managed Service Providers, and CompTIA, with its MSP Partners Trustmark, add new certifications aimed at the managed service provider contingent.
