John Guido, IBM’s vice president of business partner management and strategy is moving to the company’s top distributor position as IBM’s managing partner executive at Avnet, IBM officials revealed this week.

Guido will be succeeded by Nick Verses, who was formerly vice president of U.S. Solution Providers.

Marsha Trant, previously vice president of Solutions and Integrator Sales, Americas Group, will succeed Verses.

The roster changes were revealed to IBM team members April 4 by Towney Kennard, IBM’s vice president of Business Partners Americas.

As vice president of business partner management and strategy, Guido was responsible for IBM’s PartnerWorld growth in recent years, constructing a program that he had said he designed to add complementary solutions and avoid conflict and overlap. Previously, Guido served was vice president of iSeries sales.

Avnet is IBM’s largest distributor, and IBM is Avnet’s largest vendor.

The distributor runs its IBM business unit in tight precision with IBM’s own PartnerWorld program.

It is designed around building solutions for Avnet resellers.
