Security Training Company CyberVista Launches at CES
CyberVista, a wholly owned subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company and sister company to Kaplan Inc., announced its launch at this week's CyberSecurity Forum at 2016 CES in Las Vegas. CyberVista is a cyber-security education and workforce development company that offers personalized training programs to help organizations protect their digital assets, and reduce their risk of cyber-breaches. The company will leverage Kaplan's expertise in personalized learning, assessment and online delivery in combination with curricula developed by cyber-intelligence professionals, said the company.
Aimed at corporate board members and executives, the initial product offering will cover cyber issues that affect their organizations, business risk, and the tools to oversee and manage those cyber-risks. The training program can be customized and will be available in-person, online and recorded sessions.
CyberVista also plans to introduce a cyber-security certification preparation program for practitioners and IT professionals, and a continuing education program for practitioners who are in the field or looking to get into it.
CloudPhysics, Ingram Micro Ink Distribution Deal
Data analytics provider CloudPhysics signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro. Under the agreement, Ingram Micro will sell and support CloudPhysics' software-as-a-service (SaaS) analytics solution, giving channel partners and their customers insight into their IT infrastructure to make more informed decisions. The company also offers a new "quick start program" that offers Gold tier benefits.
Tech Data Signs KoolSpan
Tech Data announced a new agreement with KoolSpan, a provider of communication security on mobile devices and desktop phones. The deal enables the technology distributor to provide KoolSpan's solutions to U.S. resellers through its Tech Data Mobile Solutions & Retail division. KoolSpan provides cross-platform, end-to-end communication security on desktop phones and mobile devices, including Android, iPhone and BlackBerry products.
Faction Adds Level 3 Communications
Faction, an enterprise-class infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud provider offering hybrid and multi-cloud solutions, will feature Level 3 Cloud Connect Solutions at three of its cloud locations: Denver, Chicago and New York/New Jersey. Level 3 will be a preferred network provider for Faction's Layer 2 Direct Connect offering. This is a patented service that allows customers to connect their networks to Faction's cloud without redesigns of subnets or topologies.
Datalink Earns Cisco Master Security Specialization
Datalink achieved the Cisco Master Security Specialization, recognizing the IT services provider for meeting the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco network security solutions. This recognition demonstrates the company's technology skills and practices to provide a Cisco security platform and value-added security solutions. Datalink's security practice includes strategy development, risk assessment, solution design and technology selection, security tool rationalization, and monitored and managed security.
Carbonite Expands Exec Team
Carbonite, a provider of cloud and hybrid business continuity solutions for small and midsize businesses (SMBs), added three new senior executives to lead the company's expansion in the SMB business continuity and disaster recovery market following the acquisition of Seagate's EVault.
New executives include Christopher Doggett, senior vice president of global sales; Norman Guadagno, senior vice president of marketing; and Paul Mellinger, senior vice president of EVault. Dogget is a channel sales veteran and joins Carbonite from Kaspersky Lab where he most recently served as managing director of Kaspersky North America. Carbonite also recently announced the appointment of Jessica Couto as vice president of North American channel sales.
