Avnet Government Solutions Expands GSA Schedule
Avnet Government Solutions expanded its General Services Administration (GSA) schedule to include NetApp data storage and management solutions. Adding NetApp to Avnet Government Solutions’ GSA schedule gives partners access to the federal government’s largest Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), which agencies use to purchase solutions "for their IT needs, without making the expensive investments to maintain their own contracts," Avnet said.
Earlier this month, Avnet Government Solutions launched new cloud security solutions through its partnership with IBM aimed at the public sector. Offering security-as-a-service, Avnet Government Solutions business partners now have access to IBM's complete security solutions portfolio—including BigFix for endpoint protection, the QRadar security analytics platform and the Guardium data security platform for federal, state, local and education government customers. These services-based solutions, known as "AGS SaaS Protect," will help address security vulnerabilities in laptops, workstations and servers used by individuals within an organization.

Bitdefender Enhances MSP Security Solution
Bitdefender announced the released its new LabTech integrated MSP security solution and its participation in ConnectWise's vendor program. The Bitdefender Security for LabTech is fully integrated with ConnectWise's remote management and monitoring (RMM) solution LabTech, enabling all antivirus and anti-malware security tasks to be managed directly from the LabTech console.
Veeam Names New VP for North American Channel Sales
Veeam Software appointed Kevin Rooney as the company's vice president of North American channel sales. Rooney will be responsible for the company's North American sales strategy and Veeam ProPartner program. He previously held high-tech sales and leadership positions at VMware and Hewlett-Packard.
SwiftStack Joins the Cisco Solution Partner Program
SwiftStack, a provider of object enterprise storage, joined the Cisco Solution Partner Program as a Preferred Solution Partner. This means the company has achieved Cisco compatibility certification on at least one solution, and can provide its customers with 24/7 customer support. In other news, SwiftStack partnered with VeriStor, enabling the advanced IT solutions provider to integrate SwiftStack's object storage into its enterprise cloud services portfolio.
