The mobile arena offers a wealth of productivity gains and cost savings for small businesses, a key market for solution providers looking to offer services, ranging from mobile app development to mobile device management. Indeed, mobile products are saving small businesses more than $65 billion a year, according to recent research released by AT&T and the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council. The AT&T Small Business Technology Poll 2014 reveals that mobile apps save business owners hundreds of millions of hours a year in productivity while the devices themselves save billions of dollars. So channel vendors and their partners should continue to keep mobile technology on their radar, especially when it comes to offering services to improve connectivity, user experience and security. "In the current economy, mobile technologies are critical to enabling small businesses to save tremendous amounts of time and money by helping them do more with less," said Cathy Martine, president of AT&T's Enterprise Business Solutions. "As a result, we're seeing more and more small-business owners and employees turning to mobile technologies to not only keep them connected but to put them ahead of the curve, as well as their competition." Representatives of more than 1,040 small businesses took part in the research. Here are key findings from the study.
