Core Security Inks Partner Deal With Axxum

Core Security, a provider of attack intelligence solutions, has added Axxum Technologies to its Core Secured Partner Program. Axxum is a provider of cyber-security services for the federal government, specializing in risk management, information assurance, security operations and penetration testing & vulnerability assessments.

The partnership enables Axxum to add the Core Security Attack Intelligence platform to the company’s IT security offerings. The extensible platform proactively addresses security threats based on real attacks that hackers use.

Tech Data Expands Vendor Network

Tech Data recently signed two distribution agreements that add to its cloud services and printer and scanner products. The IT distributor announced a distribution agreement with dinCloud, a cloud services provider that helps businesses migrate to the cloud through business provisioning. The cloud offerings will be available to Tech Data’s channel of solution providers through its TDCloud business unit.

The distributor also inked a deal with MakerBot to bring its 3D printing and scanning products to its channel of resellers in the United States and Canada for the next 12 months. Under the agreement, Tech Data will distribute MakerBot products, including the MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer, MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer and the soon-to-be-released MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer.

Arrow Beefs Up Cloud Portfolio With SoftLayer Services

Arrow Electronics has expanded its global cloud services portfolio with the addition of cloud infrastructure offerings from SoftLayer, an IBM Company. Under the agreement, Arrow will distribute SoftLayer cloud services in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The SoftLayer product set will be available through ArrowSphere, the distributor’s cloud aggregation platform available in EMEA and North America. The modular ArrowSphere platform provides automated provisioning and consolidated billing for cloud services from Arrow’s channel of service providers.

GFI MAX Enhances Backup Service for MSPs

GFI MAX has launched the latest version of GFI MAX Backup, a secure hybrid cloud backup and recovery service for managed service providers (MSPs). The service offering adds enhanced client discovery and remote deployment features, as well as new usability and scalability features including simpler virtual machine restore capabilities.

A few of the new features include skip files during restore, multi-threaded restore and a fully Web-based backup manager. The upgrades are designed to help reduce the amount of time spent by MSPs to ensure that their clients’ systems are backed up and safe, while increasing their recurring revenue stream.
