FalconStor, Acolyst Launch Federal Partner Program

Acolyst, the newly appointed federal distributor of global data storage provider FalconStor Software, has launched the Acolyst/FalconStor Federal Partner Program. Under the agreement, Acolyst will manage the program and recruit a limited number of solution providers.

Partners and solution providers who are selected to participate in the program will have access to FalconStor’s products and solutions and Acolyst’s support for new business opportunities. Partners will receive support in marketing, proposal writing, joint trade shows, events, training, as well as technical and contract support. 

DLT Initiative Aims to Simplify Public-Sector Access to Cloud

DLT Solutions, a VAR focusing on government IT software and services, has released the DLT Cloud Navigator, designed to simplify access to cloud computing products, services, contracts, tools and expertise for public-sector customers. The DLT Cloud Navigator combines offerings from cloud vendors, architectural and managed services, procurement through a variety of different contracts, pay-as-you-go billing, account management and back-office support.

The new initiative takes the expertise built by the DLT Cloud Advisory Group, formed in 2011, to help public-sector customers better understand cloud computing, even further by offering cloud procurement expertise, professional service capabilities and back-office support under one roof.

CompTIA Unveils Mobile-Optimized Website

CompTIA has launched a mobile-optimized Website, CompTIA.org, that offers content, connections and credentials to help IT channel professionals and businesses grow. The site is open to visitors, registered users and CompTIA premier members. It has been revamped to support the IT industry association’s new open-access model for IT channel business tools, insights and training. The redesign includes simpler navigation with fewer menus, a new download interface, and an improved search engine that leverages a Google Search Appliance.

Trend Micro Enhances Security for VMware vCloud Hybrid Service

Trend Micro, a VMware security partner, has introduced its Deep Security solution for VMware’s vCloud Hybrid Service that offers a platform for security controls and policies managed across physical, virtual and cloud environments. VMware vCloud Hybrid service enables customers to move their on-premise or private cloud deployment to the public cloud.

The new offering is designed to provide on-premise-type security in hybrid cloud environments. Deep Security provides intrusion detection and prevention, anti-malware, integrity monitoring, vulnerability scanning, firewall and Secure Sockets Layer capabilities to simplify security operations. It also enables regulatory compliance and accelerates the ROI of virtualization and cloud initiatives, the company said.

Halon Delivers Cloud Email Filtering for Hosting Providers, MSPs

Halon Security—a provider of email security, routers and load balancers—has announced a new platform that delivers cloud enterprise-class email filtering for hosting providers and managed service providers (MSPs). Inumbo 2.0 is touted as the first cloud service to deliver white-labelled email filtering for OEM and solution partners.

The platform is a contract-free, pay-as-you-go cloud anti-spam email service designed for hosting providers and MSPs. The company is the first commercial vendor to integrate DMARC into its email security solution to fight phishing emails. It also offers providers new ways to deliver their offerings, whether via cloud, hybrid or on-premise. The platform is hosted on four global data centers and supports cPanel, Parallels Plesk, and DKIM signing and verification.

Virtustream Improves Cloud Management Platform

Virtustream, an enterprise-class cloud software and services provider, has released its next-generation cloud management platform (CMP) software, xStream 3.0 that adds enterprise risk management and OpenStack support. The new release offers a higher level of security and compliance automation to private, hybrid and public cloud management.

Virtustream is one of the first enterprise-class cloud providers to extend high service-level agreement support for OpenStack, the open-source software for building private and public clouds. This allows customers to provision, run and manage VMware and OpenStack workloads within the same xStream user interface.

The new release also offers Enterprise Risk Management capabilities to the cloud, providing advanced features such as chip-level geo-fencing, continuous compliance and vulnerability monitoring. Other features include enhanced data-protection policies, a new xStream application management framework for streamlined integration in the cloud for packaged and custom applications, predictive analytics and flexible billing options.
