ConnectWise partners looking to add greater control over Web browsing and Internet application activity to their MSP services will now be able to get those services from the Tampa, Fla.-based software provider.

The professional service automation software company announced Oct. 17 that it will offer Cymphonix’s Network Composer technology to its 16,000 users worldwide as part of an agreement between the two companies.

The deal will give ConnectWise partners supporting SMBs access to Cymphonix’s secure Web gateway solutions, the companies said in a statement. ConnectWise will offer full integration with Network Composer, giving customers better control over Web browsing content and Internet application activity. The companies said that Network Composer is the only secure Web gateway solution to offer both features in a single product designed specifically for the SMB market.

The integration of the Cymphonix device will allow administrators to ensure adequate resources are available for mission critical applications and browsing traffic.

ConnectWise said the deal was part of the company’s overall VAR-friendly strategy.

“If we in the channel are to truly be successful against the direct threat, it’s important that VARs partner with VARs,” said ConnectWise CEO Arnie Bellini in a statement. “At ConnectWise, we take this very seriously and continually look for opportunities to help our partners work both together as well as with channel- friendly suppliers in ways that bring incremental value to each side of the supply chain. Our partnership with Cymphonix is the first of many steps in this direction that we intend to take.”

At least one ConnectWise partner saw the deal as an opportunity to broaden his company’s offerings.

“ConnectWise’s partnership with Cymphonix underscores both companies’ interest in helping channel partners sell more deeply and broadly into their customer base,” said Curt Hicks, president of Detroit-based technology solution provider Center for Computer Resources, in a statement. “This new agreement gives ConnectWise partners access to more affordable Web gateway solutions, which enables us to expand our scope of managed services to the SMB market, better serve these clients and increase our profitability.”
