Hewlett-Packard announced June 5 that it has hired former Best Buy executive, Sam Taylor, to lead Web sales in a bid to boost direct sales of the company’s portfolio of personal systems and imaging and printing products and services.

Taylor, a veteran of online and catalog sales, was named senior vice president of HP Online Sales, and will head the vendors’ Web, catalog and telephone sales initiatives to business and consumer customers.

He will report to Vyomesh Joshi, HP’s executive vice president of the imaging and printing group.
