Cloud Computing: A Channel Opportunity

Cloud Computing: A Channel Opportunity

Use of the Cloud Exploded   87% began using the cloud in the last three years.One-third have been using it for three or more years.

Now that cloud computing has found mainstream adoption, the need to manage multiple instances of cloud computing is creating new opportunities for the channel, according to "TechInsights Report 2013: Cloud Succeeds. Now What?" a new survey of 642 IT leaders from North America and Europe sponsored by CA Technologies. According to the survey, the use of cloud computing has exploded in the last three years. While most of those deployments are meeting expectations, the survey finds that backup and recovery, end-to-end service management and accelerated software development top the list of critical capabilities needed. In addition, almost two-thirds of survey respondents say they want to make sure they don't get locked into a particular cloud service provider. The survey also finds that contrary to conventional wisdom, the larger the organization is, the more comfortable it is in the cloud. There are, however, significant concerns relating to security and privacy that still need to be addressed. Regardless of the depth of commitment to cloud computing, there is a significant opportunity for solution providers that have the skills needed to manage multiple cloud computing deployments.
