NEWS BRIEFS: In addition to IndependenceIT's news, this week's coverage includes new certification programs from Scrum Alliance and Global Knowledge, and more.
IndependenceIT Upgrades Its Cloud Workspace Suite
IndependenceIT enhanced its Cloud Workspace Suite (CWS) with new workflow management enhancements. With version 4.0, IT service providers and enterprises can centralize and automate multi-data-center administration from a single interface. The Workspace-as-a-Service platform is designed to eliminate the need to manually configure large, distributed deployments.
CWS allows IT administrators to orchestrate and provision automated, multi-platform, hypervisor/device-agnostic workspaces, apps and desktops as a service. IT service providers and administrators can select their preferred cloud infrastructure for globally accessible workspaces across single or multiple clouds. The software also offers an API set for ease of integration with existing customer infrastructure and business support tools.
Scrum Alliance Adds New Qualifications Program
The new program will begin by offering courses in Scaling Scrum Fundamentals. Participants interested in earning an Added Qualification in Scaling Scrum Fundamentals will need to hold at least one of two foundational certifications, Certified ScrumMaster or Certified Scrum Product Owner.
Global Knowledge Readies for Cisco Collaboration Training
Global Knowledge, an IT and business skills training provider, has announced learning support for Cisco's new CCNA Collaboration and CCNP Collaboration certification programs. These programs provide IT professionals with the latest in voice and video implementation, troubleshooting and configuration skills. These curricula will replace CCNA Voice, CCNP Voice and CCNA Video certifications.
Global Knowledge expert instructors and training specialists are working on courseware and labs to help IT professionals achieve and maintain the latest Cisco certifications. The new courses will be available soon. In the meantime, IT professionals can continue to pursue the existing CCNA Voice, CCNP Voice and CCNA Video certifications, which will remain active for three years after completion. The CCNA Voice, CCNP Voice and CCNA video exams will retire Aug. 14, 2015.
Ingram Micro Joins Verizon Partner Program
Ingram Micro Mobility joined Verizon's partner program, giving IT resellers access to Verizon's machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobility products that include hardware, software and accessories, as well as device-activation capabilities. The benefits for IT resellers include a shortened sales cycle and greater simplicity in the delivery of multi-vendor products, making it easier for resellers to enhance or add a new line of business.
The product lineup is suited for several channel verticals including health care, education, retail and transportation distribution industries. As a member of Verizon's partner program, Ingram Micro Mobility can also leverage Verizon account teams for pricing, engineering support and the highest level of customer care.
Tech Data Adds Springpath Software
Tech Data inked an exclusive agreement with Springpath to offer its data platform software to solution providers in the United States. The deal enhances the distributor's data center infrastructure product portfolio.
The Springpath offering is available through Tech Data's Advanced Infrastructure Solutions division. Under the agreement, solution providers have access to preloaded software and can provide end users with a fully integrated solution for lower operations costs.
Soonr Enhances Partner Portal Capabilities
Soonr, a provider of secure file-sharing and collaboration services for businesses, introduced new partner portal capabilities designed for managed service providers (MSPs) and cloud resellers. The new capabilities enable channel partners to manage multiple customers from a single central location. This enables service providers to directly manage service, device and other team policies within the partner portal without having to separately log-in or require a separate user account per customer team, the company said.
