Report: IT Needs to Partner with Business CounterpartsBy eChannelLine | Posted 2009-04-14 Email Print
A survey conducted by integrator Unisys found that IT decision-makers are looking to create better collaboration and partnerships with their business management counterparts to deliver technology that drives business initiatives.
In a Unisys survey of 188 North American CIOs and other IT decision-makers, 76 percent of respondents said they believed their organizations should not simply provide technology support for internal business organizations, but should actively partner with clients to create and drive initiatives that push the enterprise's strategic business objectives.
IT executives view driving technology innovation as an imperative for their businesses to flourish in a market that is becoming increasingly challenging and competitive, according to Unisys. Of the respondents, 60 percent said their organizations were taking such a leadership role, with 48 percent currently co-leading innovation initiatives with business organizations and 12 percent leading business innovation across their companies.
