Organizations Are Collecting and Managing More Information than Ever

94 percent of the organizations surveyed say they are collecting more information today than two years ago with the biggest sources of the data being customer information, operations and sales and marketing.
As the volume of data that IT organizations are struggling to cope with continues to mount, the ability to make sense of all that information at the time when the business needs it is becoming more challenging.

A new survey of 333 C-Level business executives from the U.S. and Canada finds that business executives are becoming increasingly frustrated with their inability to get the right information into the hands of the right people at the time they need it. Essentially, that means that most of these organizations need to overhaul the way they manage information, which in turn creates a massive opportunity for solution providers in the channel. According to Rod Johnson, vice president of industries strategy for the Oracle Industries Business Unit, the entities not surprisingly experiencing the most amount of pain are public sector and healthcare sectors, but the data management challenge has become a major problem across almost every vertical industry.
