The IT veteran joins distributor Synnex to head up its U.S. peripherals business.

Distributor Synnex has appointed industry veteran T.J. Trojan to run its U.S. peripherals business.

The firm has also promoted Gary Palenbaum to senior vice president, consumer electronics.

Trojan, who has 24 years in the industry and was formerly president of NEC Display Solutions of America, will become senior vice president of peripherals, reporting directly to Peter Larocque, president, U.S. Distribution.

"T.J.'s broad operational and manufacturing background will be very complementary to Synnex as we enter our next phase of growth. As we continue to diversify our business model and create new market opportunities for our customers, having a seasoned executive like T.J. working by my side will be pivotal to our continued success," Larocque said in a statement.

Promoted from his position of vice president of peripherals, Palenbaum will now be responsible for growing the distributor's consumer electronics business, which he helped to launch.
