The uptime guarantee bucks the current state of storage migration, for which there continues to be a certain amount of downtime during the process.
Hitachi Data Systems has released an open systems storage array clustering product that the company promises offers 100 per cent accessibility to business-critical data assets.
According to Claus Mikkelsen, CTO of storage architectures at Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), the market is at a crossroads in terms of rational growth of storage. Storage systems are becoming ever more complicated, and when it comes to migration of data, there is a certain amount of downtime expected. HDS is changing that with Hitachi High Availability Manager, which the company stated offers 100 per cent uptime of storage, even when the data is being migrated.
"This has been a requirement for our customers for a number of years," Mikkelsen said.
