Avnet will distribute and support the company's telephony management and call accounting systems to its VoIP partners

Avnet Technology Solutions announced this week that it has reached an agreement to offer telecommunications management and call accounting systems from Veramark Technologies. Avnet will offer the systems with its existing telephony offerings, including IP telephony systems from Avaya.

Avnet is building our IP telephony solutions for channel partners by selecting technology vendors based on their ability to work across multiple platforms, and support a wide variety of market segments," said Jack Morris, vice president of Avnet's Technology & Market Solutions group, in a prepared statement. "Veramark's innovative telecommunications applications have set the industry standard for call accounting software, and serve both the SMB and enterprise space. Avnet's partners will be able to offer their customers an IP telephony solution that not only reduces their costs, but also improves security, increases their telecommunications capabilities and enhances productivity."

Avnet will provide channel partners with support for Veramark's systems through its Technology and Market Solutions Group. The partnership with Veramark is part of a program by Avnet to help its channel partners build new solution practices around technologies like IP telephony.

"We look at the IP telephony market as an opportunity for exponential growth for our business," said David Meier, vice president of sales for vTechnologies, Inc., an Irvin, CA-based solution provider that integrates telephony systems with contact management systems. "Our customers are making significant technology and infrastructure investments as they evolve their voice networks to IP telephony. By working with Avnet, we are able to offer a complete solution that includes specialized applications such as Veramark's, plus complementary technologies from the leaders in the industry."
