IBM is trying to help facilitate partner-to-partner relationships with a new social networking community.
Riffing off the name of its once-annual partner conference, IBM's PartnerWorld Communities takes the idea of the conference's partner networking area and makes it virtual and global. Based on surveys and feedback of the IBM Business Partner community earlier this year, IBM pulled together a variety of resources to create the new social networking portal, which not only provides partners with an easy way to find and connect with each other, but also offers 60 online classes they can take to upgrade their knowledge.
"The concept of PartnerWorld Communities is let's leverage the skillset of the variety of partners we already have so they can partner and come in front of customers with more value," said Tim McChristian, vice president of global business partner sales at IBM.
