Hewlett-Packard announced June 5 that it has hired former Best Buy executive, Sam Taylor, to lead Web sales in a bid to boost direct sales of the company's portfolio of personal systems and imaging and printing products and services.
Taylor, a veteran of online and catalog sales, was named senior vice president of HP Online Sales, and will head the vendors' Web, catalog and telephone sales initiatives to business and consumer customers.
He will report to Vyomesh Joshi, HP's executive vice president of the imaging and printing group.
HP expects Taylor to improve the Web and catalog buying experience and grow HP's direct business, Joshi said in a prepared statement.
Taylor spent two years at Best Buy as senior vice president of online stores and marketing.
Prior to Best Buy, Taylor spent more than four years as head of online and international business at Lands' End and four years at Disney, where he served as European regional director of The Disney Catalog and The Disney Store Online.
