Synnex, best known for distributing networking hardware, launches the Open Source Channel Alliance to promote the adoption and sale of open source software among solution providers.
Synnex is aggressively pursuing the open-source market and has put together a Red Hat-led consortium of ISVs to offer solution bundles to the channel. It has launched the Open Source Channel Alliance, consisting initially of nine ISVs, intended to drive open source adoption in the mid-market. According to a statement by Peter Larocque, president of U.S. distribution at Synnex, "This alliance will enable us to provide complete open source solution packages that can deliver the kind of return-on-investment that our customers require, especially given the current economic environment."
