Powa, Ingram Micro Sign Distribution Deal

Ingram Micro signed a deal with Powa Technologies to distribute the PowaPOS T-series, an all-in-one tablet point-of-sale (POS) offering, in North America. The move is expected to help accelerate Ingram Micro's recent expansion into the retail and finance vertical markets and support the company's commitment to build out its growing POS business.

In September, Ingram Micro announced plans to expand its POS offerings and broaden its vertical market strategy. The Data Capture/POS business unit, part of the Ingram Micro Specialty Solutions Division, enables channel partners to tap into high-margin sales and service opportunities around select vertical markets. Ingram Micro also recently announced its participation in the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider Program.

Tech Data Canada Launches resellerCONNECT

Tech Data Canada, a distributor of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, has launched resellerCONNECT, the company's reseller marketing program, to its partners across Canada.

resellerCONNECT is focused on the marketing needs of small and midsize business (SMB) resellers, leveraging Tech Data's expertise in its vendor marketing initiatives for its reseller partners. The four key focus areas for the program are lead generation, event management, creative services and Web design.

Focal Point Unveils Channel Partner Program

Focal Point Solutions Group, an IBM MSP Business Partner, has unveiled its authorized channel partner program.  The Focal Point Channel Partner Program lets organizations become a "Partner in Profit" and participate in the data protection and availability market that includes server, disk and tape sales, along with managed services, disaster recovery, high availability and backup/recovery.

Key program features include lead generation, sales support, unique marketing programs, high margins, performance enhancements, mirroring solutions and training/tech support.

Vormetric Joins McAfee Partner Program

Vormetric, a provider in enterprise data security for physical, big data, public, private and hybrid cloud environments, has joined the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) Program as a Sales Teaming Partner. McAfee SIA is a technology-partnering program.

Partners in the McAfee SIA Sales Teaming Program complement the McAfee product portfolio and enable the McAfee sales force and channel to offer more complete security solutions to enterprise customers.

The Vormetric offering extends the protection offered by the McAfee Data Center Security Suite for Databases and increases the visibility, insider threat detection and audit reporting of McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, said the company. Vormetric has completed integration with McAfee Database Activity Monitoring and McAfee Enterprise Security Manager.

NetApp Alliance Partner Program Adds RackWare

RackWare has announced its membership in the NetApp Alliance Partner Program. The NetApp Alliance Partner Program offers qualified infrastructure and application providers with access to NetApp solutions, software development kits, technical support, training, certification, product information, and marketing and sales assistance.

RackWare is collaborating with NetApp and IBM to integrate its hybrid cloud management solution, RackWare Management Module (RMM), with IBM and NetApp technology. Through the partnership, customers will be able to get the benefits of cloud migration and disaster recovery for legacy, as well as cloud applications. RackWare recently opened its new Channel Partner Program to service providers and VARs globally.

OnSIP Inks Deal with Telecom Brokers

OnSIP, a cloud PBX provider, and Telecom Brokers, a master agent, have signed a new partnership deal to offer next-generation communications solutions to businesses nationwide through their network of agents. Telecom Brokers selected OnSIP for its unique pay-as-you-go pricing plans, BYOD flexibility, and product features such as InstaCall, which enables companies to add one-click video sales and support to their websites. Telecom Brokers is a full-service master agency that offers phone service, Internet, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), cloud computing and other services.

RGS Expands Education Portfolio with Campus Security System

RGS, a unit of Avnet, has introduced a new security system, the RGS Visitor and Student Identification System (VISIT). The new credential and individual tracking solution is designed to make schools and other public facilities more secure by providing an easy-to-use system for logging, verifying and tracking visitors.

The RGS VISIT system includes a camera, driver's license reader, printer and controlling software with options for staff badging and mobile check-in and verification modules. The system also is designed for other facilities that want to limit access to unauthorized individuals, including hospitals, corporate buildings, manufacturing facilities, and critical infrastructure facilities such as power and water treatment plants.

8x8 Partners With Master Agent AVANT

8x8, a provider of cloud-based unified communications, contact center and collaboration offerings, has partnered with AVANT, a distributor of next-generation technologies, to offer its cloud communications services to business customers worldwide through AVANT's network of solution providers.
