Get Ready for the Shift to Cloud UC

Say good-bye to traditional premise systems. Cloud adoption is rising across organizations, with cloud unified communications market share expected to increase by a factor of six in the next five years, according to a new survey conducted by BroadSoft, a global unified communication software-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider. This translates into threefold growth in large enterprises, sevenfold gains in the midmarket and fivefold growth in the SMB sector by 2020. The survey of 129 global service providers and industry leaders was conducted at the BroadSoft Connections conference in the fourth quarter of 2015. In addition to the shift from PBX and IP-PBX to cloud communications solutions, the survey also revealed a major transition to mobility communications with SMBs going 100 percent mobile by 2020, and big challenges ahead for business email due to new cloud-based tools such as team messaging and collaboration apps.
