Dell has announced sweeping additions to its virtualization solutions suite, paying particular attention to accelerating the delivery of benefits to its corporate clientele. In an interview with Ziff-Davis Enterprise Contributing Editor Steve Kovsky, Dell Solutions Director Anthony Dina explains that in the past, customers were frustrated by the length of time it took for a new technology investment to pay for itself. Dell's new approach emphasizes quicker returns and better measurement of each customer's ROI. "There's a lag time between when a person decides they want to get after the advantage, and when they actually get the advantage, so with this announcement, we put a lot of effort into what we call 'the fast track to efficiency'," Dina said. That fast-track approach calls for a combination of pre-configured hardware and software packages, bundled with advisory and consulting services that are designed to let companies plan, deploy and manage their server virtualization investment with a minimum of downtime or delay.
