Jennifer Clemente
Like many public relations specialists, Jennifer Clemente is a
former newspaper journalist who cut her teeth on the grit and grind of
daily news cycles and fast-paced story telling. What makes Clemente
stand out is her intrinsic understanding that public relations and
journalism meet at the intersection of good story telling and
communicating ideas. Clemente has a singular gift for understanding the
needs of her internal constituency, the way the target audience wants
to consume information and how to convey the value of that idea to the
journalists with whom she works.
Clemente
has worked tirelessly in making the connection between her company,
IBM, and the target market; the actors in the stories she conceives and
the journalists that tell the stories; and, in the end, the value
proposition that IBM creates for the channel with the people who need
to understand the opportunities of working with Big Blue. This sounds
like the job of any public relations professional, but Clemente
distinguishes herself by brainstorming off-beat concepts, story lines
and trends. The one thing that journalists are sure of when Clemente
calls is that she’s not pitching just another press release destined
for the dustbin known as media kit collateral.
Beyond her storytelling skills, Clemente is a consummate
professional in representing her company. She understands and clearly
articulates the values of IBM, its executives and its business
partners. She is adept at forming relationships with media partners.
Clemente’s professional and interpersonal skills have earned her the
Channel Insider Bull’s Eye Challenger Award for In-House Public
Relations Specialist of the Year.
