SugarCRM
Solution providers, VARs and
integrators have rightfully been asking where they fit in the cloud computing
universe. The need for high-capacity, high-availability infrastructures to
deliver complex applications has left many in the channel feeling that the
burgeoning cloud space may only be for big players and large vendors pushing
their own wares.
SugarCRM has been working hard to quell those concerns and
make cloud computing a place where a lot of channel players can win.
SugarCRM's Partner Program provides a wealth of benefits to
solution providers interested in selling and implementing SugarCRM's commercial
products. The three-tiered reseller program provides a full menu of information
resources, training and education support, and marketing and sales support.
And the Powered By SugarCRM OEM Program allows OEMs, ISVs
and VARs to quickly deliver a differentiated solution to their target markets.
An OEM partnership gives partners an award-winning CRM
product known for light footprint and flexibility to be delivered in a hosted
or on-site model. That gives partners a head start on creating products that
meet the exact needs of customers.
As a result, more than 150 partners worldwide are selling
SugarCRM's popular application.
SugarCRM last month ported its apps over to Microsoft's
cloud computing Azure platform as a direct play to its channel reseller and ISV
partners, according to company officials in Cupertino, Calif.
"Two-thirds of our business is through the channel, and
half of our business in on the Windows platform anyway," says Larry
Augustin, CEO of SugarCRM. "We do a lot of business through channel
partners and resellers. And that's because of the flexibility of the
application. We really enable our partners to customize and deliver a great CRM
solution."
Combining a user-friendly CRM
application with a highly available, scalable and secure cloud computing
platform should further SugarCRM's channel strategy by enabling partners to
host and run their applications on a major platform and letting them create
extensions and customized versions of SugarCRM to run on Azure without hosting
the applications themselves.
That's why SugarCRM has earned the Channel Insider Contender
Bull’s Eye Award for Cloud Computing Program of the Year.
