Tech Data’s Technology Solutions Tour
Road shows and local seminars are often synonymous
with bad coffee and stale Danishes. Tech Data’s Technology Solutions Tour was
hardly stale or bad. Designed to bring cutting-edge technology, business
enablement and market opportunities education to solution providers in their
home markets, the Technology Solutions Tour set the standard for what a good
road show entails.
Held in Tampa, Fla.;
St. Louis; and Washington,
D.C., the Technology Solutions Tour were
day-and-a-half events that showcased more than just the capabilities of Tech
Data’s support and services divisions. Tech Data crafted these shows with
multiple boardroom and working groups so solution providers could collaborate
with peers and vendors, brought in industry-leading speakers to share
experiences and perspectives on the IT market, and hosted numerous technology
and services vendors to demonstrate the next-generation technology and sales
opportunities.
Going beyond the usual format for small events, Tech Data infused outside
perspectives and “infotainment” with speakers such as life-lesson author Andy
Andrews; motivational speaker and writer Robert B. Tucker; stress reduction
through humor expert Tim Gard; comedian Buzz Sutherland; and football hero Rudy
Ruettiger, the inspiration for the movie "Rudy." Outside speakers of
this caliber provided solution providers with skills and tools for coping with
the stresses and challenges of their business and work lives.
Solution providers at these events raved about the quality of the sessions
and content, the caliber of the attendees, and the level of showcased vendors
and technologies. Tech Data did a fantastic job of making a small, regional
event feel like a big, national conference. For setting the mark in channel
road shows, Tech Data earned the Channel Insider Contender Bull’s Eye Award for
Channel Conference of the Year.
